Yes, I said July. Last month, Sample Society released more boxes from the month of the revamped program and I had to jump on it.
This post is not as much of a review, as it is a compliment to the Beauty Bar (host for the Sample Society subscription) customer service. The number one item I wanted was the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight-01. So imagine how heartbroken I was when I opened the package to discover that the powder had shattered and went EVERYWHERE. I didn’t even inspect the rest of the box because I was covered in shimmer.
WAHHHH!
I immediately emailed their customer service to report the issue and see if they might be able to send a new powder. I sent the email at 7:22 pm, the day before Thanksgiving and in 13 minutes, I received this wonderful response:
“Hello Laura,
Thank you for contacting us at Beautybar.com. I’m sorry to hear the Laura Mercier powder shattered in transit. I will be delighted to assist you.
Laura, don’t worry, I’m sending you a replacement order with a new Sample Society July kit containing that Laura Mercier powder. The new order number is 36834325 and it is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, December 2nd. Please keep an eye out for a separate email confirmation and for the tracking details which will follow shortly.
Again Laura, I’m sorry the Laura Mercier powder arrived damaged, but I hope I was able to help you to your satisfaction. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow. This is the customer service for a 4-month old subscription box?
I was contemplating not continuing the Sample Society Box after December, but decided against it for 2 reasons – 1.This is some pretty fantastic customer service and 2. The December box was soooo good…
