A New Day

Taking a look at all of the things I've been missing

Weekly Favorites – part 3

on September 21, 2014

Hello again!

Welcome back to my new weekly glance of current rotation/most used/obsessions of the week. And yes, it really could be any or all of those things. Depends on which day you ask me! 😉

Its been very strange this week – cold but so humid. Like 80% and above humidity… makes it really tough to transition seasons well.

Left to right: Benefit They’re Real!, Brazilian Tech Keratin De-Frizz Wand, Laura Mercier Shimmer Mosaic,
Kiehl’s Superbly Effective Antiperspirant, Bath and Body Works Peach and Honey Almond Body Cream and Body Scrub

 – Benefit They’re Real! Beyond Mascara – I recently dug this sample out of my stash and I fell in love all over again. This mascara never lets me down. The wand is great and the formula thickens and really sticks (sometimes a little too much…). It comes off fairly easy with eye makeup remover. This can be found at Ulta, Sephora, etc. for $23.

Brazilian Tech Keratin De-Frizz Wand – this is a repeat from Week 1, but has come in so handy.. again, 80% humidity! Again, $8 at Sally Beauty Supply.

Laura Mercier Pink Tourmaline Mosaic Shimmer Bloc (affiliate link) – I’ve been having a lot of fun with this again. Yes, it can be used for cheekbones, but it looks amazing on the brow bone. A little goes a long way – I’ve had this for over a year and I swear I haven’t even made a dent… At first glace, this could be mistaken for a borderline glittery product, but it actually reflects the light and brightens skin. The colors when blended are just gorgeous! You can find this and 3 other shades at Nordstrom for $42.

Kiehl’s Superbly Effective Antiperspirant & Deodorant Cream – I think its weird to post about deodorant sometimes, but this is AMAZING! Someone told me about this a while back and I was a bit skeptical. It is a cream (obviously) and dries clear, no residue. While it has a light, citrus scent, there is no lingering scent once it dries. This protects easily for 12 hours. It comes in 2 sizes – 1.7 oz ($16) and 2.5 oz ($19.50).

Bath and Body Works Peach and Honey Almond Body Cream and Shea Body Scrub – this smells yummy. I can’t get enough of this – the body scrub is made with crushed walnut shells, but is so gentle and the body cream, in typical BBW fashion is super hydrating. The scent is long lasting and is a mix of vanilla, peaches and citrus. There are tons of other notes, but its not overwhelming. This is limited edition, but still available in store and online – $12.50 each and currently buy 3, get 2 free.

I hope you had a great week and are looking forward to officially welcoming FALL this week!
