A New Day

Taking a look at all of the things I've been missing

Ode to Winter…

on February 12, 2014

Winter, you stink. That’s as far as I have made it… but if you live in the Midwest, you know there is a lot more I could be saying. I’m just being kind.

So how are we surviving it here? I decided to poll a few friends and check out some of their winter must-haves to share with you all. I’ve received some great responses that I look forward to sharing with you in upcoming posts.

I’ve been getting by with the help of my friends:

Teavana Moroccan Mint loose leaf tea – so refreshing! Just the smell of the leaves help me feel a bit perkier. I do love some hot tea!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream – thank you, Allure beauty box! This was a great find this season. Although I use lotion constantly, most winters I find myself with cracked and bleeding hands. This product has really helped this season – no cracks! Its thick, not greasy and has the slightest bit of eucalyptus oil which gives it slight, but clean smell.

Plain ole Chapstick – I pile the medicated Chapstick on at night. It’s the only thing that provides 8 hours of overnight moisture. Daytime varies between Sugar balms and Burt’s Bees with a little kick of color. Those are great, but not for healing from the harsh wind encountered during the day.

Puppy – no really. A cuddly puppy can help you get through the worst winter day. How can you not love these faces?

What are some of your winter must haves?
